Our Mission Statement

The Mission of South Street Baptist Church is sharing God’s love in the community.

This will involve the church in taking the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to all who are outside of His Church, with the goal that they become His loyal disciples.

In a rural setting, South Street Baptist Church provides ministries and activities for a broad cross-section of our community and for people of all-ages. Unusually, the Church draws members and visitors from a wide area – from Dartford in the north-west, Sevenoaks and Maidstone in the south and the Medway Towns to the east, as well as folk from Meopham itself and the surrounding villages.
A selection of activities across our church ministries are:-

House Groups
House Groups meet in a variety of locations at different times throughout the week, providing opportunities for friendship, worship, prayer and Bible Study in a comfortable and informal environment.

Children & Young People

Our Children & Young People's activities are an important part of the life of South Street Baptist Church. We host a variety of activities for children and young people, including our popular Songtime group for mums, dads, nans, granddads, and carers with their babies and toddlers. Held every Monday morning during school term times. Read more about Songtime here.

With a growing population of older adults, South Street Baptist Church is committed to providing pastoral care and regular activities for our senior citizens. Many of these are organised by church members.

Prayer

prayer

Prayer is encouraged in a variety of forms in all our services.

Organised prayer themes for the needs of our community and for national and world affairs are a regular part of most Sunday services.

House groups provide a safe place for group prayer and our Deacons are available to pray with people at the end of our services, especially for healing in all its forms. If you would appreciate receiving prayer, please contact us, or if you would like to share with us an answer to prayer that you have received, please also contact us.

Have you ever felt the need to pray?

Almost all of us have. We at South Street Baptist Church believe in the power of prayer. We have found that prayer has made a difference in our lives.

If you would value prayer for anything at all – maybe for yourself or your family, or perhaps for matters of world importance, we would love to hear from you. Contact us here.

Our Leadership

We are currently in an interregnum phase and we are lead by our Leadership Team of Elders and Deacons.

The role of our Elders is to guide the fellowship through the spiritual oversight of the church and give pastoral care.

The role of our Deacons is to serve the church as Managing Trustees, with special responsibility for implementing policy and managing church affairs. Most deacons represent a different aspect of church life and are responsible for ensuring that matters related to their specialism are communicated and acted upon.

Different ministries and activities of the church are led by our church members.
